I was actually wondering about the “missing” selected channel in the RCP-module within Companion.
The user-defined-knobs on the CTL-DM7 on the other hand can be setup with parameters depending on the selected channel.
Does that mean, DM7 and CTL-DM7 are not using Yamaha’s RCP or do they finally support this feature in RCP.
If anyone knows please let me know as well.
Sadly, Yamaha’s RCP protocol doesn’t have a “selected channel” function. It’s the single-most requested feature, though. The RCP protocol is an external protocol, not used for the internal workings of the console, so it has no bearing on what can be done within the UDKs on the console.
Feel free to ask Yamaha to implement it - if they ever do, I’ll have it in Companion the next day!
