This is all I have so far. My main limitation for testing is understanding companion 5 when I’m used to companion 3. I’m not sure how feedback works anymore when the metering and status all lands on other tabs. Took me quite a lot of time to figure out how to put text on a button.
Meters match where green crosses to yellow (I personally don’t like the entire meter changing to Yellow but I assume thats the preset). With a bit more level the meters are solid red, not matching the desk which is just part way into yellow. I checked this with pink noise generator of the desk.
Fader movements (preset) require 39 rotational steps before changing from -inf to -99. -138 is the second lowest indicated position on the desk, so the math is right, its just not showing on the fader preset buttons.
I had a glitch that I could not repeat where I pulled the physical faders down, when the last module setting was unity. I incremented the CW control by 1 and it threw the faders to +1, I then pulled to -inf again, and incremented the control again and it went to +2. The module things the fader is where it put it last. Using the press action to run through the cycle of steps (preset fader) would straighten it out again, but essentially the module isn’t always reading the real fader position and then incrementing relative. I had the same type of issue when building my AD8HR module with Claude Opus.
Tap tempo flashing and time appears to come from the module rather than the actual desk. I was able to repeat this. Moving the laptop caused a quick network glitch (manual IP so it comes right back) that was NOT enough for the Houston we have a problem message, but was long enough to cause the button and the desk to lose sync and only quitting companion and restarting got it back in sync.
My feature request would be for SOF, which does not appear in the OSC document and may be impossible to implement. I would even be OK with SOF on the EDITER causing the desk to be in SOF, but those appear totally separate with no way to link them. This would be incredibly useful on my DM7C.
Additionally, I’d like to have the editor on the MIXES and the console on CHANNELS, select SOF, with cue, and I’d like to have MIDI faders controlling those mixes with the editor as the screen, essentially making another BAY. I’d like to be able to take that “virtual bay” away from the console and operate the desk remotely on the network from another place in the room. I’m wondering if companion with the midi module and the DM7 module could bridge all of this together.
