Neutrik DPRO - Module Fails to Connect to Box

I’ve been trying to run the Neutrik DPRO module without luck so far.

Companion 3.5.3 and latest beta. Running v1.0.1 of the module and the Neutrik DPROshould be on all latest version. Device firmware 9.15 (visible in dpro controller) and from dante controller on product version 1.5.0 & dante version 4.2.4.2.

I can access the box just fine with dante controller and the dpro controller. Don’t have a CL/QL at hand to test with them. And the dm3 unfortunately does not allow for remote HA control…

The module logs show the following message:

**system**: Status: unknown_error - connect ECONNREFUSED 192.168.77.59:49280
**error**: Network error: connect ECONNREFUSED 192.168.77.59:49280
**system**: Status: connection_failure - null
**system**: Status: connecting - null

Any ideas what might be wrong?

My first guess would be that it’s not able to connect to the device. Does it show up in the Bonjour setting in the Companion Config?

G’day Jott,

Firmware 9.15 should be fine.

The DPRO’s have 2 IPs. One for dante, one for control. First thought is to make sure your trying to connect to the control IP.

2nd would be to make sure you don’t have DPro Controller running at the same time. I can’t remember if the device supports multiple connections, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesnt.

It doesn’t show up in the Bonjour drop-down in the module settings. However running a bonjour discovery tool I can see the box is advertising via Bonjour. But only the dante ip gets advertised.
DPro controller finds it straight away.

The trick was with the control IP. I wasn’t aware it had the separate control ip.
Setting the ip correctly in companion establishes the connection successfully.

:information_source: IP-Config for the control interface is done in dpro controller and for the dante ip in dante controller. I then looked up the dhcp leases in my router. With self-assigned ip the control-ip tends to be the dante-ip minus one.

I tested if multiple connections are possible at the same time and it seems this is not the case. With either companion or Dpro controller having a connection established the other can’t establish a connection anymore.

Thank you for writing back and letting us know. Something to keep in mind when using the DPRO with Companion.

I thought I had the Bonjour working at some-point. I will spend some time with the Bonjour discovery in the next week or two. If I can’t get it to work we shall remove it from the module.
