I appreciate that the functionality Yamaha has documented for DM7 is quite limited.
Have you tried the CL/QL midi module with DM7 ??
We had a DM7 in for an event last year, and found that IP Midi commands (from other Yamaha consoles) that were not documented for DM7 did indeed work…
Interesting! I’ve not had a DM7 in my hands so I haven’t tried any experiments like that.
I assume though, that you’re speaking of the standard MIDI messages (note on/off, Control change, etc.) that all Yamahas support.
Which messages did you try that worked?

We had REAPER reading LTC and sending midi notes via USB to a DM7 for snapshot changes…
Can you give an example of some of the undocumented MIDI commands you found?

You’re looking for a MIDI message for Selected Channel? There isn’t one.
Sad, Are there a other way for Sel Message for companion?
For the DM7? Not at this time. I would look into it if I had a DM7.
However, I believe once the CUE functions are added to the DM7, you will be able to use the CUE button on a channel (or several channels) to select those channels for an action.
This is already possible on some of the other Yamaha consoles, and hopefully will be available soon for the DM7.
