Hi Andi, I am trying to connect a CL5 to companion, I followed the steps that you wrote above. In companion I am using yamaha rcp but I’m only getting a yellow spinning circle like it’s trying to connect to the desk
You are definitely able to connect to the CL with the editor on that same computer?
What does the module log show? Open the module log (the 3 dots beside the RCP connection) and then select clear, then stop then start. Wait a minute then export and send that to me.
I think I’m sorted now! I was thinking if it was actually possible to connect the module to the editor without having a desk connected. I’m working on only one macbook so both the editor and companion are on the same device.
Copy. Yeah, that’s only possible with the CLQL Module. The editor doesnt “speak” RCP.’
Ok, good to know. I’m trying to install the module for CL/QL now but it says it’s a DEV Version, not sure if I did something wrong. Also if I try to upload the module package it doesn’t find any uploadable file in the folder I downloaded. I’m in companion V 4.2.6
Thanks,
Valerio
Are you seeing a .tgz file on your computer from the download?
If not, check this:

That worked! Thank you so much! I’m checking right now. Is it normal that there’s no Preset or Variable for the CL/QL module? I can only see the rcp ones
No, no presets. I think that’s my oldest module. Hasn’t been updated in a VERY long time.
No worries, man, thank you so much for this; it is really helping my workflow, I appreciate that.
